Grapes from the world

Piedmont
If it is commonly said that wine and cuisine go hand in hand in Italy, it is without a doubt in Piedmont that this combination is the equivalent to an art of living. Indeed it’s not by chance that this region is at the origin of Italy’s wine renaissance, under the impetus of Angelo Gaja, a forerunning genius, who’s still considered today as the country’s Italian vintner.

Argentina wakes up
Ten years ago and Argentina was barely a blip on the world wine map. Today it is the fifth largest producer of wine and home of some of the newest and most exciting wines being produced today.

Priorat, Spain
If a wine region can be resolutely traditional yet excitingly modern at the same time, then it is Priorat. Lying inland in the remote hills above Tarragona not far from Spain’s north-eastern coast, Priorat is now producing some of Spain’s most compelling and expensive wines.

California
The USA is the world’s fourth largest wine producer, and the number one market in terms of money spent on wine, before probably becoming, quite soon, the biggest consumer of wine in volume as well. California produces around 90% of all wines from the States, with a vineyard that covers about 200,000 hectares, which is roughly twice the size of that of Bordeaux.

« Chilean wines are exceptional! »
If you ask consumers what they think of Chilean wines in general they will probably reply « Chilean wines are mostly good and not too expensive », others may affirm « Wines from Chile are exceptional! »
