Côtes de Provence La Londe
It’s time to show some respect! Rosé is real wine, fine wine even when the producer makes an effort. It’s a good twenty years ago now since Provence started working on a major rethink and has since demonstrated where its best terroirs are, which now includes La Londe.
St. Joseph
Situated on the steep western banks of the Rhône River, the appellation of St. Joseph is a long and narrow strip of land located between the towns of Vienne and Valence. It is the largest appellation of the Northern Rhône after Crozes Hermitage.
Champagne
Dom Pérignon, Cristal Roederer, Gosset Célébris, Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle, Pommery Cuvée Louise, Perrier-Jouët Cuvée Belle Époque… These are all names making us daydream, even though we don’t really know anything about the winemaking techniques behind these brands. Where does Champagne’s magic and the myth about its special cuvees come from?
Alsace
Riesling is capable of changing its personality depending upon the terroir that it has been planted in. However it plays its greatest aromatic symphonies on the parcels consecrated by the Alsace Grand Cru appellation.
Rosé de Provence
Periodically, rosé suddenly becomes all the rage. After the 60’s and its floods of sweetish Anjou and Portuguese rosés, then a fad for pink Champagne in the 1980’s, it would seem that rosé is very much back in fashion, both in France and in Britain.
